What is a Hb HPLC (Thalassemia Screen)?
Hb HPLC separates and measures the different types of haemoglobin in your red blood cells. A raised HbA2 fraction identifies the beta-thalassaemia carrier (minor) state, and the test also detects variants such as sickle haemoglobin.
